Everyone that diets runs into little challenges along the way, and I’d say today was the first real one I’ve faced since I officially kicked off my new healthier-me routine. In the past, major screw ups have totally derailed any diet attempts — I figured I’d messed up so badly, I just gave up. But not this time!
I’m the chair of a ministry my church does for needy kids in the community — we feed them a homemade hot lunch and do lots of activities and crafts, plus parenting courses for the parents. It’s a lot of fun and the kids love it, but the menu isn’t exactly designed for someone on a diet. Spaghetti, meatballs, mixed veggies, grapes and buttery garlic bread with cupcakes for dessert. Yum! But not so good for the waistline.
Usually, I’m so exhausted and hungry by the time lunch comes that I sit down and cram it in as fast as I can before I have to help coordinate dismissal. Today was no different, but I’m proud to say I completely avoided the bread and cupcakes, only took a few bites of the pasta, and focused on a few meatballs and the veggies. Still not the healthiest lo-cal meal, but I’d say I did pretty good considering how much I could have screwed it up!
By the way, this is the kind of body I’d like to have by the time I’m 40!
Can’t wait to have a Reese bod instead of a Reese’s Cup bod! You go girl!

Thank you! It’s so hard to see what is spam and what are actual comments. If you really are interested, there’s a link at the bottom of our pages to the designer. She did a great job, didn’t she?
