MAKING IT HAPPEN
We have goals. We have dreams. Lots of ‘em. Some are lofty, some are simple. We have career endeavors, visions of a healthy lifestyle and a few (seemingly) lifelong annoyances we need to finally address. It’s not that we don’t know how to tackle most of these goals. We think we know exactly what to do. But we’re not doing it. Why? Are we afraid of success? Hell no. Are we afraid of failure? Failure does suck. Are we just lazy bums?
Now that’s just mean.
We have established Fit Fab 40 in an effort to get off of our bums and finally tackle those goals and dreams we’ve been talking about forever: losing 20 pounds, writing that book, creating a successful business, writing that second book, selling those books, decluttering our homes (our lives), overhauling our finances, etc. We’ll document it here to have some accountability, too. Some of our dreams are the same, some are different. Our approaches to conquering them will certainly be different, but will reflect what a (relatively) normal 39-year-old mom who’s juggling work and family can do to finally make it happen. We’ll be our own life coaches.
Oh yeah – we both just turned 40. We spent the last year focusing on a goal of improved health and weightloss — to varying degrees of success. It is a work in progress and a great example of how we’re approaching these goals: slow and steady, making small, permanent changes, one at a time.
Our current focus is in working toward our professional dreams. We both aspire to be writers — in different ways — but the ultimate goal is to achieve a lifestlye that allows us to be successful professionally AND be able to spend time with our families. Stay tuned.
